AUTOMOTIVATION PROGRAM

Current Partners

Operation Comfort Soldiers and Marines are ready to get the “Automotivation” Programoff the ground as donations and contributions are coming in.

We would like to thank Lonesome Dove & Cattle Company for making our program possible. Lonesome Dove has donated space allowing us to use their garage bays and facilities located at the Lonesome Dove Ranch; they have made some renovations and modifications to their facility to meet the needs and safety of our wounded.

Others who have made donations to this program include: 4-Tek Kreepster, Bend-Pak Inc/Ranger Products, Red McCombs, and CarQuest.

Become one of our partners and donate to a worthy program; take a look at our Wish List and make your donation today.

SEMA SHOW

It was Christmas in early November for Operation Comfort elves, Janis Roznowski and CPL Andrew Powers who attended the recent Specialty Equipment Manufacturers’ Association (SEMA) show.  This show is the premier automotive specialty products trade event in the world.  It draws the industry's brightest minds and hottest products to one location, the Las Vegas Convention Center.  The show featured the latest in auto restoration tools, show cars,  custom paint jobs, etc., as well as some of the big rigs that haul the beautifully restored vehicles of the rich and famous.

Janis wasted no time talking to as many vendors as she could and spread the word about Operation Comfort’s Automotivation program.  CPL Andy Powers interfaced with the vendors and translated the auto lingo for Janis.

Some of the potential goodies include, but are not limited to:

  •  2 tall tool chests filled with tools
  • Computer Auto Analyzer
  • Two 36” Swamp Coolers (on rollers)
  • Rollable chairs
  • Battery Charger
  • Tire Changing machines
  • Paint Booth

Some outings possibilities for our guys included a ride in the big rigs that haul the vehicles of the rich and famous (and perhaps a couple of autographs and photo ops)…… and a few laps in a formula car at some of the Nascar tracks. Santa says you better be nice….

On another note, a very special retired Vietnam Veteran who is an expert at restoring vehicles, Michael Swertferger, offered to come to San Antonio from Ogden, Utah to help out our Automotivation guys.  This gesture could prove to be one of the best donations of all!

If you’d like to contribute to our Automotivation goals, please e-mail CPL Andrew Powers at andrew.powers1@yahoo.com
